{da ball}

This cute little ball of mischief has an obsession.  He spends a good portion of his day playing with balls.  Right now his favorite is a snow globe type bouncy ball that his dad bought him a couple of days ago.  He is so obsessed with this ball that it went with us to the zoo and church and he even sleeps with it.  His most frequently used word is "da ball".  We can just say the word and he will repeat it long after.

Speaking of balls...last week the boys and I went to Costco and as we were walking towards the checkout line, we passed by a big display of watermelons...to which Keegan started shouting "ball" over and over.  AND became extremely distraught when I began to walk away...which resulted in the purchase of a watermelon that day.
SO...today Matthew decided we should eat the watermelon...to be honest I was a little apprehensive cutting it up in front of Keegan.  I was worried it would traumatize him with his "passion" about balls.  But as Matthew was cutting into the melon, Keegan smiled big and thought it was quite funny when the 2 halves fell apart.  We did learn that neither boy likes watermelon.
As I was cleaning up after dinner and Matthew was cutting up the melon, we had the following conversation:
Matthew: hey Katie why do we carve pumpkins for Halloween instead of watermelons?
Katie: um...maybe because watermelons are ripe during spring and summer and pumpkins are ripe during the fall.  Why do you want to carve a watermelon this year?
Matthew: Yes...
Which resulted in this...

Did you stick the watermelon outside your door?

Matthew, love the watermelon pumpkin face??? The story of Keegan reminded me of Eric throwing eggs from the fridge as balls. I had a hard time keeping him out of the fridge because of the eggs (balls).
