"Where - is - my - super - suit?"
"Under tremendous public pressure and the crippling financial burden of mounting lawsuits, the government quietly initiated the Superhero Relocation Program. Superheroes were granted amnesty from past actions under the promise to never again resume hero work. Where are they now? They are living among us. Average people, average citizens quietly and anonymously making the world a better place."
My mom sent these capes to the boys for their 2nd birthday, however Keegs would rip his off up until now. This afternoon Carter wanted to wear his and then Keegan ran over and wanted his on. They enjoyed running around and spinning in circles with the capes flapping away.

Hulk smashed, Hulk destroyed!!!
{my dad}
my dad...is goofy...and serious...
he's thoughtful...and loving...
he manages to make me smile almost every day...despite the 15ish hours between us...
...i.am.a.daddys.girl...and i miss him A.LOT!!!
he emails me almost every day...with something funny or crazy...usually...
but...occasionally it is something very.thoughtful...
as most know by now...it is the flinstones 50th anniversary...
...so in honor of their anniversary...dad sent me an email containing this...
...and i smiled...
and every year on my anniversary...my dad sings me this song on my voicemail...
...and...it.always.makes.me.smile...

{the craziest kid i know}
well..what can i say about this little boy?
...what can i not say...keegan although doesn't wake up with a smile...
because he wakes up like his dad, definitely acquires his smile shortly after...
...and usually wears it most of the day...it takes A LOT.to make keegan cry...
...but he does get upset and angry fairly easy...but that is usually do to this..
or something equally mischievous...
the other day matthew summed up keegan exactly...
...we were eating lunch at arby's and as usual keegan was just eating his fries and ketchup...
and this is what happened...
he starts just eating the ketchup..sucking it off of his fingers...
...and then he takes the ketchup cup...and.squishes.it...
til all of the ketchup comes out over the top and onto his clothes...
...then.he.does.it.again...
to which matthew says...once is curiosity...twice is mischievousness...
.............in keegan's case...twice.is.never.enough..................
speaking of food...keegan has decided he is a frosting eater of oreos...
...and a hershey kiss eater of peanut butter blossom cookies...
he.knows.what.he.wants...
and...because he is only a frosting eater of oreos...he expects mom and dad
...to eat the rest of the oreo...gross.period...
keegan has a thing for balls...
or anything round that is...
he still becomes very distraught if we are in a store and we pass a ball display...
...and he doesn't walk away with at least...one...or three in his hands...
i really.don't.know...what his obsession is with balls, but...
we will be enrolling him in soccer next summer...that.is.for.sure...
keegan is.SO.full of energy...i really do not know where it all comes from...
and his mind is definitely on different wave lengths than mom and dad...
...but because of his "mischievousness" he is also VERY creative...
...he has ideas in his little head that i wouldn't ever think of...
maybe it's because he usually sleeps like this...
...or bathes like this...
BUT...this is one idea i probably would never try...
i know what's been on that rug...and even though keegan may not care...
...i don't think i could bring myself to use it as a blanket...
but...i still love this little guy like.crazy...period.
...oh ya...and he makes me laugh.a.whole.lot...

{carter-isms #2}
oh how i.love.this.boy...he is silly and curious...and extremely intense...at times
he wants so badly to be a big boy...
...which has resulted in this...
we've been talking about selling our current table and buying one that is normal height...
instead of counter height. we knew that it was only a matter of time before one...
...or both boys decided to climb our table.
...and we tend to have a lot of company, so we want one that seats at least 8 people...
preferably 10...
...well all of our talking went out the window...and now its a decision we have made...
carter can now climb into his booster seat...and on this day...
...his loving brother keegan decided to buckle him into his booster after carter climbed in...
which...carter didn't.like.at.all...big boy-itis.period...
...carter is bossy...he points his finger and yells at me.dad.brother...whenever hes frustrated...
we have no idea what hes saying...so in a way its humorous...
...but this little personality quirk has landed him in timeout on a number of occasions.
carter...only wants to eat his banana like mom and dad do...
if we peel it, or chop it up...he becomes very distraught...which kinda makes me smile...
he is a very particular kid...
he knows exactly what he wants...when he wants it...
...but he sure.does.love.his.brother...
...a couple of weeks ago, carter scared the crap out of me...
all summer long i have been saying i needed to get a hide-a-key, because...
...up to that point carter had locked me...us out of our house...twice.
...but a couple of weeks ago, i had gone to the commissary and returned home.
matthew went back to work to oversee a training exercise that was going on between 6-7pm.
...i began putting the groceries away and had stepped into the garage for no more than 3 minutes...
to unload a bag...i tried to go back into the house, only to learn that carter.had.locked.me.out...
i began to panic because i still hadn't bought a hide-a-key, and matthew was at work and not easily reachable.
so i ran next door, to our newly wed...newly air forced neighbors and for the 3rd time this summer asked to use their phone, because my kids had locked me out of the house. i tried to get a hold of matthew...
but i didn't know his desk number, i didn't know the ops floor number...i didn't know any number, because...
they are just programmed in my phone, which i didn't have.
and these 2 newly wed...newly air forced kids only knew the main desk number...
...so i called it...and who answered? the 2sops squadron vice-commander...
a lt.col...and i was on the verge of tears, because by this time i had been locked out 20min...
...and couldn't remember if everything was 100% baby-proofed or not.
...so this lt. col very calmly, with im sure a smile on his face, told me a phone number to call...
in the end...i never did get a hold of matthew, he was unavailable during the exercise...and i sat on the front porch with my chillin looking out the window at me crying...carter probably crying because he wanted me...
...and keegan probably crying because he wanted to be outside too...
in the end...matthew came home right at the same time another squadron commander was walking by with his wife and dog...who found out what had happened...
...the next day, i bought a hide-a-key...

{aebleskivers}
these beauties are aebleskivers...i grew up on these things. what are aebleskivers...you ask.
well they are little pancake balls served with powdered sugar and jam. my grandma gladys is norwegian...
so naturally i grew up on some norwegian food...aebleskivers being one of them.
a couple of weeks ago, i realized that i hadn't made aebleskivers for a while and that the boys haven't had them...ever.so...
we had some...keegan ended up eating 7, which is one batch. that morning he ate more than i did.
these boys have truly channeled their inner norsk. aebleskivers: check...ketchup: check...maybe grandpa doug will fix em some lutefisk at christmas time...or maybe just some lefse.
