A long time ago, when my family still lived in Nebraska, we took a family vacation to Oregon to see extended family. While on our way back we were traveling on I-80 through Wyoming. My parents promised my sister, brother and I that if we were good we would stop at this particular cowboy store and we could all get a pair of cowboy boots. I really wanted red ones and so at first I tried extra hard to be good. One thing led to another and my sister and I ended up fighting like sisters sometimes do. We were so loud and obnoxious that we lost the privilege to own cowboy boots, but my brother was able to get a pair. Of course I didn't think it was fair and was probably even more obnoxious for the rest of the drive home. Now that I am a parent, I totally understand why I had to go without. But I guess my mom and dad felt bad that I never received my cowboy boots because they stopped at that same store on their way down for Christmas. My boys ended up with their first pair of cowboy boots, which I have to admit they are SO dang cute. They are even John Deere brand. So thanks mom and dad for the way cute cowboy boots!!!
