This week has been big for Keegan. For the last 3 months he has been sleeping in the swing due to acid reflux and projectile spit up. We were terrified that he would spit up while asleep and choke. But he hardly ever spits up now. He has only had a handful of projectile spit up episodes in the last 3 months and on a day-to-day basis doesn't even spit up at all. So last Sunday Keegan was SO tired he fell asleep during his last feeding before bedtime. I thought, "what the heck" and decided to put him in his crib. Matthew and I had talked about this for a long time knowing that we would have to make the transition soon. But I was terrified because Keegan has a hard time falling asleep, but once asleep not much wakes him up. On Sunday I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try since he was so tired. I knew if he didn't like it we could always put him back in the swing. Well it worked like a charm. I think he was just so drowsy that he didn't care where he was, as long as he was asleep. Last night we decided to try again, hoping that even though he was wide awake he would do okay. It worked again. Granted he did stay up talking for about 15 minutes, but at least he wasn't crying. He slept through the night both nights without waking up once. In fact in the last 2 nights he has done better than Carter and Carter has been sleeping in his crib since 6 weeks. Keegan still sleeps in the swing for naps, but we figure one step at a time and as long as he is sleeping through the night in his crib that is the most important part.

Projectile spit does not sound fun- for you guys or Keegan.
It's heaven when they sleep through the night. Sleep deprivation was probably the hardest thing for me.
I love your slideshow. Keegan's smile is so cute. He justs seems so happy. What a cutie! Give him a big hug for us!
hi katie,
i found your blog via lacey's and ranae's :-)! your swing-sleeper sounds just like christian! way to be brave though and make the move to the crib! most babies stop spitting up in large quantities by 6 mos--hang in there!
