{little green men}

In 11 days the boys will be 8 mo old. I can't believe how time flies or how fast they are growing. Because there isn't a well baby check up between 6mo and 12mo, we took them into the Pete Clinic. We were curious how big they are getting.

Carter:
weight- 17lbs (17th%)
height-28.24in (80th%)
head circumference-18.31in (92nd%)

Carter is getting so big. He definitely inherited the Prestwich genes. My family is SO short and Matthew's dad's side of the family is pretty short as well. Carter also inherited my metabolism from my youth. I was always so skinny growing up. He is getting to be so big that we are already starting to look at the next size in car seats. Carter's feet already hang over the edge by at least 2 inches, and his head is almost taller than the back of the car seat. He is still rolling like crazy to get anywhere, and he is grabbing at most anything. In the first picture, he rolled himself in that position.
Carter is also mostly wearing 12mo clothing. I bought 6-9mo jeans from Old Navy about a month ago, and they are already high waters on Carter. But I have to admit it is somewhat frustrating with Carter being so tall and so skinny. When the length fits him, the waist is huge, so I have to either safety pin it or sew elastic in the sides. Oh well, it could be worse, we could have Michelin Men babies, haha.

Keegan:
weight-15.76lbs (5th%)
height-25.78in (5th%)
head circumference-17.91in (75th%)

Keegan on the other hand, we think, inherited the Hoiland genes. Who knows, he could definitely still outgrow his brother, but this is the biggest gap there has been between the two. Still, Keegan is also way skinny and has my metabolism. Although his gag reflex is increasingly becoming a nuisance. We have to be extremely careful when feeding him so we don't position the spoon or bottle nipple in the wrong spot and cause him to gag and throw up. We asked the nurse about it today and she just said that there wasn't anything we could do. It is something he will either grow out of, or he will just have to live with it the rest of his life.
Keegan, still likes to look around and has little interest in becoming mobile. He has rolled from back to front a few more times, but he becomes frustrated because he can't figure out the whole arm positioning after rolling. He still laughs at almost anything, but lately he has been doing this certain laugh. It is way cute, when he does it it sounds like Gizmo from the Gremlins. I think he will be our boy full of sound effects.
