A couple of weeks ago, Matthew went on TDY to Savannah, GA and I was able to go with him for part of the week. It was SO much fun. It was very nice to get away and remember how it was to be just us. My mom was able to baby sit for us for the week. We stayed in the Hyatt on the River Front in Savannah, and we had the best River Front view. The conference Matthew was attending for the week was across the river so he took the River Boat Ferry there and back. The Ferry was free so we rode it multiple times. It was quite fun.
While in this cemetery we were bombarded with a sketchy looking man who decided he was going to give us his own personal tour. According to him half of the people buried in the cemetery died by way of duel fighting. And in those days in order to have a duel you needed a permit from the sheriff. The funny thing about this is there is a huge sign when you walk in saying that the inheritance of the cemetery died from yellow fever in the early 1900s. While this guy was telling us about the people, Matthew called my cell phone and used it as an excuse to get away from him. Apparently, before I arrived in Savannah, Matthew and the other guys he was with for the conference had a meeting about the necessity of staying away from bums. I guess there is quite a problem in Savannah and once they start talking to you they won't leave you alone until you give them money. They think you owe them for their time of talking to you...
I really wanted to visit a cemetery while in Savannah thinking all of the graves would be above ground, but only a few were in this cemetery.

Every day freight liners would come down the Georgia River a couple of times a day... They were huge ships.
