It's double the giggles...
...and double the grins...
...and double the trouble if you're blessed with twins.

{meet baby sawyer}

this little guy came into our world on may 14th at 11:31pm.  and boy was he eager to be part of this world.  i  was induced with my first pregnancy so i didn't have much of a concept as to how real labor was suppose to be.  i had had an appointment earlier that day and was already dilated to a 5 so my ob told me if i even started to have regular contractions no matter how far apart they were i needed to high tail it to the hospital.  around 5 i did begin to have regular contractions, but they weren't painful at all, just really uncomfortable.  but i didn't tell matt just yet because he was picking up a new bed frame for us from rc willey.  i figured i would know when the time came.  matt finished up with the bed around 630 and i told him it was time to go even though my contractions hadn't gotten any worse on the pain scale.  i figured better safe than sorry.  on the way there i told matt we needed to stop and get him some food because he probably wouldn't be able to eat after we got to the hospital...so here we were...me in labor although i didn't realize it...going through the burger king drive through...we finally made it to labor and delivery triage right at 8pm.  they hooked me up to the monitors and decided to keep me even though i was still at a 5.  i was admitted and asked for the epidural right away to be preemptive...which was a good thing because in order to get the epi i needed to have blood work done to see what my white platelet count was...well those results took forever and in the mean time my contractions took off...my l&d nurse told me she was going to put me on pitocin to get me moving along...after 30min i had to ask her to turn it off because i still hadn't received the epi and i knew i was moving a lot faster than i wanted to...finally after about an hr of very painful contractions that were back to back i got the epidural...and then i had 2 more contractions and knew i had to push...there wasn't even enough time to get the cathidar that comes with getting the epidural.  sawyer was out after about 20min of pushing...and then the epidural kicked in...the whole time i was pushing i kept thinking...this is wrong i can still wiggle my toes.  being in labor for that short time has made matt very nervous about the next pregnancy and has him wondering if he will be delivering the baby on the side of the road.  recovery has been a breeze so far.

sawyer is a very good baby.  he loves to eat, but he loves to sleep more.  and he makes a pretty killer zoolander face.  i am so use to being mom to toddlers that i had forgotten just how sweet and loving a new baby is.

at first carter and keegan didn't really know what to think about this new brother...but keegan warmed up really quickly and likes to hold sawyer quite often.  carter on the other hand is still having his doubts, but he's warmed up enough to at least rub his head when i'm nursing him.  i haven't quite yet decided if carter does this to be nice or so he can snuggle up against me for a while.

{out of the mouth of babes}

...this crazy little boy has had a lot to say lately...
most...of which have given us the giggles...

...the other night during dinner he started dancing around with his hand on his butt...
"it's coming...it's coming" he kept saying...
we asked him "what's coming?"
then he said, "a fart" and then farted...

...speaking of bodily functions...
another conversation between keegan and mom...
mom: we are going to walfart
keegan: no mom not walfart, walmart...butts fart

saturday morning we were rather lazy and ended up 5 in the bed...or almost 5 in the bed...
dad was asking keegan what his name was...
dad: keegan, what's your name?
keegan: keegan boggess
dad: what's my name?
keegan: daddy boggess
dad: what's mom's name?
keegan: momma boggess
dad: what's carter's name?
keegan: carter boggess
carter: NO!!! carter baby...

{60 days}

...so i have 60 days left of this adventure...
or...i should say no more than 60 days...hopefully less actually...
i know i am totally smaller at 7mo than i was with the boys...but i am feeling HUGE...
...and so unstylish...oh well...i will be back in my skinny jeans soon enough...

{beggars can't be choosers}

we had a picnic a couple of days ago...
...which the boys loved...

afterwards we decided to show the boys the pacific ocean...
...much cleaner than the gulf...

...and we found this guy...
who figured out that if he bats his eyes and barks then people would feed him...

{rice rice baby}

we've been having a grand o'le time here in california...
...we play with a little rice...

...we con momma into buying us more angry birds...

...we blow some bubbles...

...we explore space...

...we squish our big heads in really small places...

...we reminisce about the good o'le days...

...we pretend to look like papa doug...

...or daddy...

...we sneak a few oreos and make mom wonder if that is chocolate...

...and...

...we also ask mom incessantly to listen to "ice ice baby"...
